            We use some and any, not a/an, with uncountable and plural nouns.
            They mean 'a limited number or quantity'.
            We use some in affirmative (Q) sentences.
            We use any in negative (Q) sentences, and in most questions.

            I'd like some water.   Here are some flowers for you.
